Drunktown’s Finest wins Best Film at AIFF

November 8, 2014 – Richard Ray Whitman won the award for Best Supporting Actor at the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco for his role in the movie “Drunktown’s Finest.”  The film, set on the Navajo Reservation near Gallup, NM, follows three young people whose lives are in turmoil.  Richard plays Harmon John, a grandfather, mentor and wise elder.

Drunktown’s Finest also won AIFF awards for Best Film, and Best Supporting Actress to MorningStar Angeline for her role as Nizhoni Smiles. The film was written and directed by Sydney Freeland.
